PENDLE Leisure Trust in conjunction with the Lancashire school meals service is been running a four-week promotion aimed at getting local primary school children 'active' and encouraging them to take up sports such as swimming.
The promotion has been running from Monday, June 10 and will continue until Friday, July 5.
It involves all primary school children receiving a pocket sized passport which includes a number of black and white sports images.
Each time the child gets a school dinner they will receive a colour sticker.
Every week they will be asked to collect two full colour stickers, which they will place over the black and white images.
Once eight stickers have been collected the passport becomes activated allowing them a free swim between August 12 and September 20 at either Pendle Leisure Centre, in Colne, Pendle Wavelengths, in Nelson or West Craven Sports Centre, in Barnoldswick.
Alison Goode, Pendle Leisure Trust's regional recreation manager, said: "This promotion is ideally aimed at getting our primary school children more active. It is important in this day and age to encourage both healthy eating and exercise from a young age."
