A NEW Thwaites Brewery Visitor Centre has been opened at the former Daniels outlet on Penny Street in Blackburn.
The centre was opened by Avril Haworth - personal assistant to the sales and marketing director - who first joined Thwaites 33 years ago and is one of the company's longest-serving employees.
The centre has moved from the cellar bar to the first floor following a complete refurbishment and will house the brewery's museum which is planned to open later in the summer.
Avril cut the ribbon in front of Paul Baker, managing director of Thwaites, and guests from outside the company, including members from The Campaign for Real Ale.
The new centre's opening is designed to show the company's commitment to Blackburn and brewing.
Mr Baker said: "We are always looking at ways to improve our profile, this new visitor centre is a perfect case in point.
"Our commitment to traditional brewing techniques stays at the forefront of the company's agenda, particularly in regard to cask ales."
