TRADITIONAL dances marked the launch of the new Bacup town trail and the renaming of a garden off Burnley Road.
Britannia Coconutters now have a garden named after them on the corner of Rosebank Street and railings depicting the dancers are set to be installed in their honour.
The event was also used to launch a new town trail which will guide people round the historic town which has more than 60 listed buildings in its centre.
The trail details different sites across the town, including the world's shortest street Elgin, and at each stop artist Stephen Charnock, with help from Bacup Natural History Society, has created an information board and a brass rubbing section.
Students from Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School also created artwork for the leaflet, which has been devised by Bacup Consortium and Groundwork Rossendale.
