IWAS in Blackburn for the first time in several months on Saturday, June 22 and as I walked down Higher Church Street at about 1pm, I thought what a sad and lonely desolate place it was regarding the refurbishment of Church Street.
There was not a soul in sight. So why? Well, there are no shops, gardens, flowers, bars, cafes, coffee shops -- nothing to go down for.
What a complete waste of money! At least traffic kept moving before.
I had great difficulty driving in and out of the town, so it will be back to Bolton for me.
What is the point of pedestrian areas where there are no shops?
Also, regarding the poor Blackburn traders and bringing in a French market, only this country would do that.
