KIND-HEARTS from the Hospital Servings Association have donated £13,802 to Hospice Care for Burnley and Pendle to buy a much-needed transit van.
Hospice chief executive Brian Hartup said " We are delighted to receive this fantastic donation from H.S.A Charitable Trust.
"The new transit vehicle will help enormously to move goods between shops and enable us to recycle unsuitable goods to traders."
Hospice Care for Burnley and Pendle provides in-patient, day care and Hospice at Home services for local people suffering from cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
Christina Cope, at Pendleside Hospice, said " We are very greatful to H.S.A for donating the funds for us to be able to buy a new vehicle.
"It will be a great help to the shops which bring in a lot of our revenues."
The keys to the new transit vehicle were presented to John Branch, hospice shop co-ordinator, and Mrs Joan Ashworth, hospice trustee, by Judith O'Neil, H.S.A Charity regional sales manager.
