A 51-YEAR-OLD woman left hospital yesterday after a crash which left her trapped in a car for an hour.
Lydia Carter, of Park Lane, Great Harwood, was taken to Royal Preston Hospital by air ambulance on Monday suffering from whiplash. She remained in hospital overnight.
Three people were taken to hospital after the incident at the junction of the A59 with Pendle Way, near Clitheroe, at tea time.
Mrs Carter was a passenger in a Hyundai car driven by Joe Laycock, 46, of Fecitt Brow, Blackburn.
Both women had to be cut free by fire crews after being trapped for an hour.
Mrs Laycock was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary by land ambulance suffering from whiplash but left later.
The vehicle collided with a Land Rover Discovery driven by Helen Mellin, 36, of Hyles Moor Farm in Wigglesworth.
Mrs Mellin was taken to Burnley General Hospital by land ambulance, also suffering from whiplash, but later left.
One carriageway of the A59 was blocked by the incident to allow the air ambulance to land. Tea time tailbacks were caused.
