THE exceptional tones of Bolton's Brixi Singers will be showcasing in a charity concert in Lowton.
The 20 choristers formed their group in 1994 and have never looked back. Over the past six years, they have toured Britain and last summer sang in the beautiful churches of Normandy and Brittany.
Their repertoire includes works by many great composers, with performances of Bach's Mass in B Minor, Handel's Messiah, Vivaldi and Rutter's Glorias and Benjamin Britten's Rejoice in the Lamb. They also perform their versions of songs from musicals such as Les Miserables and Show Boat, as well as traditional music and Spirituals.
The Brixi Singers, conducted by Richard Lea, will appear in a charity concert for Wigan and Leigh Hospice on Friday, July 12, at St Mary's Church in Lowton.
The show starts at 7.30pm, tickets cost £5 and are available from the hospice on 01942 525566, Atherton, Leigh and Wigan hospice shops, or on the door.
