A NEW footpath to commemorate the Jubilee year was officially opened this week.
The Jubilee route, at Hermitage Field, above the Crook O Lune, near Caton, has been constructed in partnership with Lancaster City Council, Lancashire CountyCouncil, The Ramblers Association and The Bowland Initiative.
The new route will cross a field where access was previously restricted to a perimeter route, thus enabling the many thousands of visitors to this popular beauty spot an opportunity to enjoy even more spectacular views along the Lune Valley and surrounding countryside.
A key priority has been that the footpath should be accessible to all.
Landscaping and seating has been provided.
