THE Magic Eye Scanner Appeal was one of 14 charities to receive an extra boost, thanks to charity donations from the Freemasons.
Members from more than 20 masonic lodges in Blackburn and Darwen gathered at Darwen Masonic Lodge for the presentation evening of £3,000.
And the Magic Eye Appeal received a cheque for £100.
Ian Ashton, Darwen chairman for the appeal, said: "The evening gives everyone a chance to see the wide range of charities the Freemasons support and we hope to open the door for a lot of fundraising.
"I think the Magic Eye Appeal is a worthy organisation and if we can reduce the ratio of cancer deaths it can profit the whole of East Lancashire.
"It also means that we can have the technical ability and knowledge locally. I am anxious that the equipment be available in this area rather than people having to queue elsewhere."
