SOCCER favourite David Ginola revealed that as a lad, he went to bed in his new football boots.
I'm glad I'm not the only little one who was besotted by footwear. When I was four or five, my parents couldn't find my new, rubber red wellies anywhere -- until they lifted the bed covers to find them on my feet.
I was bought a pair of black and gold embroidered Chinese-style velvet slippers from Faircloughs and that night, I spent the whole journey through Blackpool illuminations admiring not the lights, but my feet. Nicknamed Emelda Marcos, I'm still the same, I love shoes. I just don't go to sleep in them now.
What odd things did you take to bed?
