MONEY raised by former Mayor and Mayoress of Burnley Coun Jack and Mary Alston has been handed out from their charity appeal.
The couple raised £11,820 over their year in office.
They are pictured presenting a cheque for £5,500 to Miss Muriel Jobling, chairman of the Pendleside Hospice, which will maintain the hospice's services
They also presented a cheque for £5,500 to Westway School, March Street, Burnley, which will enable the school to buy a vehicle to give the pupils more access to the outside world.
They also presented £800 to Primrose Hill School, Harrogate Crescent, Burnley, received £800, which will ensure that children aged four to 16 will have a chance to take part in activities during the summer holidays.
