MORE disabled young people in the Preston area are about to be given the opportunity to attend Athletics coaching sessions at the Preston Sports Arena in Cottam.
Preston Harriers, via the City's Athletics Forum, will start coaching sessions for any young disabled person around the age of 11 or above from Monday, July 8, each week from 6.30pm.
The sessions will be staffed by fully qualified and experienced coaches.
Any parent or volunteer who would like to assist would be welcomed and would receive appropriate training at the sessions.
"Phil Walsh, Head of Sport and Recreation with Preston City Council said: ""We are aiming, through a number of initiatives, to widen the opportunities in sport for people with disabilities and following the launch of Preston Panther's multi sport club over a year ago, significant progress is now being made."
