CERTAIN peoplehave been saying that Briarwood Drive in Bispham is liable to flooding.
In view of the fact that insurance companies can refuse cover or at least greatly inflate premiums, it is important to verify the truth. I therefore put this question to the Environment Agency and quote from their reply: "According to our indicative flood-plain maps the above property (No 12 Briarwood Drive) is not situated in a total or fluvial floodplain. There are no floodplain boundaries within 250 metres of the above property." I don't think it follows that the flood-plain boundary is at this distance from my property. I think it would be wise for somebody further up Briarwood Drive to contact the Environment Agency for further information.
M Hill,
Briarwood Drive,
Bispham.
