This week with Coun PAULINE McCORMICK, Mayor of Pendle
NEW Mayor of Pendle, Coun Pauline McCormick, is a busy lady.
Not only will she be fulfilling her Mayoral duties for the next 12 months, she will carry on working on behalf of her constituents in Reedley and continue her job as a market researcher, although with reduced hours.
"I still have my constituents to look after. I can't neglect them," she said.
All this gives her very little time to relax, but when she has chance she loves to visit Waddington Fell for a panoramic view of scenic East Lancashire, and beyond, stretching out before her.
"I love sitting on the top of Waddington Fell, especially in the autumn. The colour of the leaves is spectacular," she said.
The next 12 months are bound to be extremely busy so Coun McCormick may not have time to jump in the car and head out to any of the local beauty spots. But luckily she has a nice garden to enjoy after a busy day, where she and her husband Geoff can sit and unwind.
She said: "I tend to work on a Saturday and it is lovely on a nice evening to go outside for a while. I think a lot of people these days tend to stay in more. I love cooking. It relaxes me and I like to have a nice meal in my garden."
