CHURCH Street, Blackburn -- so this is it then? When is somebody going to call Blackburn with Darwen Council's bluff and ask how they have dared to spend so much taxpayers money on an indulgent, naive and nonsensical folly?
One must question the gullibility of those who championed this stupidity.
What is it for? Who will come to see it? What is it supposed to do to enliven the town centre?
Will visitors stand back in amazement and say: 'Gosh?'
Or will they say: 'Which bunch of people in the town hall were taken in by pseudo-artistic twaddle and can we have their names, please, because we want them to give us our money back?'
We are entitled to ask what the total cost is going to be of this madness.
And how long it will be before the whole cock-eyed venture is quietly removed.
I give it two years before degradation means that the whole thing is removed, apart from the cobbles. What's your bet?
DAVID PRESSLEY, Church Close, Mellor.
