A 15-YEAR-OLD boy appeared in court on Saturday charged with the murder of a great-grandfather during an alleged burglary at the pensioner's home.
Retired engineer Harry Upton, aged 75, was stabbed by an intruder at his home in Culcheth, Warrington, on May 29.
The widower died in hospital three days later.
The local boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with murder and burglary and was due to appear at Warrington youth court.
