STAFF, pupils, governors and parents of Westleigh Methodist Primary School are celebrating a glowing Ofsted report -- the culmination of a four-year effort to drive up standards.
In 1998, the school, on Westleigh Lane, was placed under "special measures" following a previous inspection.
But the dedication and commitment of everyone involved with the school has led to a reversal of fortunes which today sees the primary classed as a "very good school" by Ofsted.
Acting headteacher Chrissie Lawrence said: "The success of the school is the result of excellent teamwork and the support received from the Local Education Authority and Leigh's Education Action Zone."
