A FIBRE-glass pleasure cruiser sank after being set alight by arsonists on the Bridgewater Canal at 12.30am today.
Firefighters were forced to seek assistance from the water incident unit at Eccles in order to reach the burning boat, which was stranded between Astley and Boothstown.
They threw buckets of water at the flames, but the fire had already destroyed the boat and it sank. No one was on it at the time.
