BURNLEY'S interest in Scunthorpe United defender Andy Dawson seems to have cooled.
The 23 year-old, who can also play in central midfield, was widely touted for a move to Turf Moor last week but the trail seems to have gone cold in the last couple of days.
Dawson, who joined Scunthorpe from Nottingham Forest for £50,000 in March 1999, has attracted interest from several other First Division clubs.
As usual, manager Stan Ternent is keeping quiet about the entire transfer situation, preferring to concentrate his efforts on persuading player-of-the-season Dean West to sign a new deal at Turf Moor.
Ternent's men will now be concentrating on the build up to the Isle of Man tour which starts at the weekend.
It is the third consecutive year that the Clarets will take part in the Steam Packet International Festival.
Ternent will be hoping that his side can go one better than last year, when they lost to Wrexham in the final.
They will face the Red Dragons first this year and they play the Welshman on Sunday and then against Luton Town on Tuesday, July 23.
Whether Ternent will have been able to add to his squad by that stage is questionable with very little movement in the market due to the fall in revenue for Nationwide League clubs due to the change in television monies.
It means that targets, such as Nottingham Forest's David Johnson who has already stated he wants to join the Turf Moor squad, are having to bide their time.
