A COUNCIL which lost its operator's licence to run its bin wagons and highways vehicles is confident an interim licence will be granted.
By the end of this month, Rossendale Council's operator licence will have run out because at a public inquiry in June it was revoked by the North West traffic commissioner.
The action was taken by Beverley Bell because of "serious and consistent breaches" which included safety checks being carried out every six months instead of six weeks.
Rossendale's direct labour organisation newly-appointed traffic manager David Rigby said today: "We are confident we are going to get an interim application. We have complied with everything that has been asked of us.
