I WONDER if parents of children who are about to start secondary education in September are aware of Blackburn with Darwen Council's intention to withdraw school transport for those who live within a three-mile radius of their school, thus putting the safety of these and other pupils at risk?
This also has an effect upon those people who use public transport at peak times and will find themselves jostling for seats on overcrowded buses, in order to get to work.
There will be a meeting at the Town Hall in Blackburn at 6pm tomorrow for concerned parents.
It would be interesting to know the reasoning behind the council's decision.
