WEST Bromwich Albion have apparently turned their attentions elsewhere after the Whites rejected a third offer for skipper Sean Gregan.
According to the Baggies website, they tabled a '£2million package' yesterday morning and made it 'crystal clear' that this was their final bid for the 28-year-old midfielder.
The site goes on to say: "Albion upped their bid to a guaranteed £1.5 million, plus an additional performance-related £500,000.
But the Deepdale club have decided the figure is still below their valuation.
"Managing director Brendon Batson said: 'We feel this is more than a realistic valuation of the player and we will not be increasing our offer.
"We never wanted to make these transfer negotiations for Sean public. Preston have decided to turn down our offer so we will now move on.'"
