VOLUNTARY and community groups are invited to a meeting in Darwen tomorrow to find out how to get a share of up to £150,000 in grant aid.
Blackburn with Darwen Council for Voluntary Service will share out the government cash across the borough this summer.
Grants of between £50 and £5,000 can be spent on projects which benefit local areas and people.
The money is aimed specifically at small, local groups that might not be able to obtain grants from other sources.
A meeting to explain how organisations and groups can bid for the cash will be held at Darwen Community Centre in Knott Street tomorrow at 1.30pm and special packs will be available for guidance.
The first round of grants was made in April when more than 50 local groups shared nearly £100,000.
Applications for the second round must be received by August 30 -- contact Graham Aspin at the CVS on 01254 583957 for an information pack.
The Neighbourhood Renewal Community Chests Programme plans to distribute £50 million to 88 areas across England between April 2001 and March 2004.
