HORDES of people will be going to the dogs on Sunday when a charity lurcher, terrier and ferret show is staged at Gin Pit village.
Astley and Tyldesley Miners Welfare Whippet and Dog Racing Club's fourth annual show will raise funds for local charities at the event being held at the sports ground off Astley Street, Tyldesley.
The fun starts at 11.30am with terrier and whippet racing and from 1pm the show entries will be judged.
Organiser Keith Woodward said: "There are 12 lurcher classes, three Bedlington classes, 18 for terriers and nine ferret categories plus gundog agility tests.
"It's a great day out for the whole family and local charities will benefit."
This year's event will feature a display of classic and vintage cars and motorcycles,
children's funfair rides, a bar, bouncy castle, hot dogs and paella.
Admission is £2 per car or 50p per individual. Class entry fee is £1, bull breeds will not be admitted.
