DARWEN and Blackburn golf clubs both cancelled their week long festivals due to lack of interest.
But Darwen professional Wayne Lennon reckons with a little more planning, the events could go ahead in the future.
"One of the problems was that there was a kids' tournament on during the week and the kids aren't even on holiday yet. So that was bound to fail.
"It is the first year we have tried to do something like this and one of the problems was that Blackburn had theirs on in the same week so we were trying to attract players from the same pool.
"There was a seniors and a ladies comp on but it just didn't take off.
"But with a bit of better planning I think it could work.
"We had 160 here for the Fourball on Saturday so the interest is there, it's just about being available to play."
