A TOTTINGTON youngster has undergone plastic surgery after suffering serious head and facial injuries when he collided with a car.
Ryan Batty (8), of Market Street, was taken to Fairfield General Hospital shortly after the accident which happened near to his home at 7.40pm on Thursday (July 11).
He was then transferred to Booth Hall Children's Hospital where plastic surgery was carried out on Friday. The youngster is said to be in a stable condition and his injuries are not life threatening.
The accident happened outside Bobbles hairdressers in Market Street when Ryan collided with an Audi car driven by a 40-year-old man from Lostock in Bolton.
A number of passers-by administered first-aid to Ryan before paramedics arrived at the scene.
Bury police have now launched an appeal for witnesses. Anyone who can help should contact the traffic unit on 0161 856 8075.
