BURY Music Centre certainly hit the right note with visiting pupils from the borough's primary schools.
Around 80 young musicians were invited along to the centre, which is situated in Mersey Drive Primary School, Whitefield, to try out the facilities and find out more about what's on offer.
And the trip was such a success that most of the group were keen to join up for classes in September.
Miss Nikki Swan, who conducts the intermediate concert band, is pictured with the pupils at the event.
Gill Hoar, of the Bury Music Centre Friends Association, explained: "Each year we organise a visit so children who are having lessons in school can get a feel of what it is like at the music centre, which provides extra training for them."
The youngsters spent more than two hours at the centre playing their instruments and even performed a small concert for their parents at the end of the afternoon.
Gill added: "It was an excellent day and very well attended. It is such a quantum leap from the dreadful sounds that parents hear coming from the child's bedroom as they practise their instrument to hearing them perform in a concert after spending some time at the centre. We got the impression the majority of children wanted to join in September."
