AGE knows no limits.
That is why Tony Sprason (62) and 50-year-old Peter Cooke, are to freefall 12,500ft in a parachute jump for three charities.
Tony, who is the curator of Bury's popular Fusiliers Museum at Wellington Barracks, is no stranger to jumping out of planes. He was a member of the parachute regiment and completed his last jump 14 years ago.
But Rotary Club member Peter, a retired police sergeant, will make his debut free-fall parachute jump with Tony on July 26.
The daring duo hope to raise £3,000 from the stunt, with sponsorship divided between Bury Hospice, Rotary International and the Make-A-Wish-Foundation.
Tony, of South Royds Street, Tottington, said: "Peter regular takes part in daring charity events, including abseiling, but he has never done a parachute jump.
"He asked me for help organising the jump which I gladly did, and he then asked me to take part. I haven't made a jump in a number of years and I am looking forward to it."
Peter, who lives in Bury, said: "Throwing yourself out of a plane at 12,500ft is definitely a challenge and one which will benefit three worthwhile charities."
The pair are now appealing for anyone who wants to sponsor them to contact Tony on 0161 764 2208.
