CREATIVE kids in Bury are inviting the whole town along to see what they have been doing.
Redvales youngsters aged from three to five have been working with professional artists to produce a range of artistic work.
Over the last school term, they have been involved in felt making and silk painting, weaving, drawing and painting, music making, sculpture and three-dimensional work.
The fruits of their labours are now on show at Bury Art Gallery, where the exhibition will run until the end of August.
Schools taking part included Fishpool Primary After School Club, Park Private Day Nursery, Little Acorns Pre-School, Holy Trinity Primary and St Thomas's Primary.
The project was funded by the Redvales-based Surestart scheme and Bury Early Years Development Childcare Partnership with support from Bury, Bolton and Rochdale Artists in Schools Initiative and Bury Art Gallery.
Joanne Albin-Clark, early years advisory teacher, helped co-ordinate the project. She said: "The children and the artists have been really busy and the exhibition is a wonderful chance to see what they have achieved.
"The Artists in Redvales project had two main objectives. The first was to allow relevant training and development for those delivering foundation stage education and the second to allow the children the opportunity to work alongside professional artists. The results were great and we hope as many people as possible will pop along to enjoy them."
Councillor John Costello, early years spokesman, added: "Schemes like this give the children concerned a chance not to just stretch their own imaginations, but to learn skills that will stand them in good stead for the years to come."
