A SCHOOLBOY was dragged off his bike and punched by a gang of three thieves in a late night incident at Morecambe.
The 15-year-old boy, from Heysham, was riding along Schola Green Lane in the resort at around 11pm last Thursday evening when he was approached by three older youths.
The first grabbed the boys hands and knocked him off the bike.
He was then hit in the face by the two other thieves, who took his rucksack from him.
The blue Nike rucksack contained a Nokia mobile phone, a variety of cards in a wallet and several schoolbooks.
The boy returned home after the incident and his father contacted the police.
The boy is said to be shaken and distressed by the robbery.
The only description available of the robbers is that they all wore baseball caps.
They are all believed to be older teenagers.
In a separate incident, a woman was robbed of cash by a man wielding a sharp object.
The woman was on Chatsworth Road, Morecambe, between 8.10pm and 8.20pm on Friday when she was approached by a man who held a sharp object her right arm.
He asked her to hand over her money, which she did.
The robber is described as male, white, in his late teens or early 20s, 5ft 9in tall, of slim build, wearing a blue, hooded fleece.
Anyone with any information on either of the incidents is asked to contact Det Con Chris Ratcliffe of Morecambe Police on 01524 63333.
