MORECAMBE FC has again teamed up with Heysham Port to hand out £50,000 worth of season tickets to local schoolchildren.
For the fourth year running, 1,000 children in school year six will be given the chance to support their local team.
Heysham Port's managing director, Graham McLean, said: " I'm delighted to sponsor the scheme as Morecambe have proved their great commitment to the community over the past few years with their summer soccer schools, school visits and football academy.'
" Football is a way of keeping the kids off the street and it is great for them to be introduced to live football at such an early age in a welcoming environment.''
Morecambe FC's commercial manager, Peter Howard, added: "The previous schemes were successful and I'm pleased that Heysham Port, who have been great supporters of the club over the past couple of years, have backed the scheme.''
More than 100 children of Heysham Port workers will also receive a season ticket as part of the deal.
