LOCAL nursery, Kindercare, has been bought by the Busy Bees childcare group.
The acquisition makes Busy Bees the second largest provider of childcare in the UK with around 4,000 childcare places.
As part of the deal Kindercare's founders, Stuart and Sarah Carr, will join Busy Bees in a national management role.
Commenting on the acquisition, Busy Bees' managing director, John Woodward said: "In spirit this deal is a merger of two groups with great reputations, who are dedicated to providing a quality service to children and parents and strongly supporting staff development."
Sarah and Stuart Carr founders of Kindercare said: "We have worked hard to develop the reputation of our service over the last 14 years and always sought to expand throughout the country.
" Our link with Busy Bees gives us the opportunity to realise our ambitions with like minded people."
