THE fact that Muse have released this live in-concert album so early in their career could be taken one of two ways.
Either this is a nice little earner for the band or it's a testament to their showmanship. These packages usually come after about half a dozen albums from bands needing to buy some time while they think of something new to say.
Recorded at Le Zenith, Paris, in late October 2001, this DVD brings the pure aggression of a Muse show into your living room. Most of the songs are taken from the band's superb second album Origin Of Symmetry.
The rest are hits and a few favourites from their equally stunning debut Showbiz.
Singer Matthew Bellamy's voice is just as good as on the studio versions, complete with screams and over-the-top falsetto. His musicianship is equally entertaining, one minute playing his guitar as if his life depended on it, the next crooning away over moving keyboard work.
The filming is superb, from extreme close-up to panning crane shots. Six of the songs contain multi camera angles which for those who just want to see how Matt pulls of those blistering licks.
The second disc is mainly taken up by a 40 minute tour documentary.
This DVD is everything a fan could want -- a snapshot of one of the most exiting bands around.
