ORGANISERS of a popular after-school maths club today warned it could close if a new tutor is not found soon.
The current Kumon maths tutor at the Burnley West Study Centre, Padiham, is moving on for personal reasons and people are now being urged to come forward to fill the gap.
Centre manager Dave Cowan warned it could close if someone is not found soon.
Students attending the private lessons do a piece of work every day and can go in to the drop-in study centre twice a week.
It is aimed at five to 14-year-olds and the programme is designed to complement the work they are doing at school on pure maths.
There are more than 30 students at the centre in Padiham and it is hoped it can eventually be expanded.
Mr Cowan said: "It could come down to it having to close if we can't get anyone to fill the position. We need someone to start within the next couple of months."
Kumon is a worldwide private educational company which has centres in 45 countries and more than 500 UK centres.
