CHORLEY Lynx will be looking to forget last weekend's poor show against Oldham when they travel to the North East to take on bottom club Gateshead Thunder.

Against Oldham, where they were beaten 52-10, the Lynx were never in the game as they gave away possession far too easily and conceded ten tries, which left coach Graeme West a very frustrated man.

West has taken steps to increase competition in his squad by taking Anthony Murray on loan from Oldham and is hoping to take at least three loan players from Warrington Wolves.

There is also a chance that an unnamed Australian, who has come to work in this country, could be included after he expressed a wish to join the club.

One bright spot against Oldham was the form of try scorer Chris Stewart, from Preston, on his debut, while Chris Causey returns to the squad after missing the last few games following his marriage.

Gateshead have occupied bottom spot for most of the season. Last Sunday they entertained fellow strugglers Swinton and went down to a 38-24 defeat after trailing 32-6 at the interval.

Thunder have taken ex-Huddersfield and London Broncos prop forward Yusuf Sozi on trial and he is sure to figure, while young hooker Chris Fletcher has been allowed to join the Scottish Students on a mini European tour.
