A horse had to rescued by fire fighters after throwing its rider and falling into a ditch on Saturday morning (Aug 3).
Rufus was trapped in the water-filled pit for more than 90 minutes and was in danger of dying until he was pulled to safety.
The drama started at 11.30am when Rufus was being ridden on land near to Lowes Farm in Ringley, Radcliffe, when he threw his rider and slipped into the ditch.
Fire crews used rope and manpower to pull Rufus from the water and he was quickly running round the field to warm up.
