ANOTHER season is just 24 hours away and I am really looking forward to it.
It has been a strange summer because we have not been able to bring in any new faces and a number of players have left.
I had a couple of injuries last season but I think the manager is going to be wrapping us all in cotton wool this time around as we have got a much smaller squad.
At least we are not the only ones in that position.
But we have all come back from the summer break with our batteries recharged and ready for action.
Last season was a big disappointment but that is all over now and we just have to start as we did last time.
Mind you, that is going to be very hard because I don't think anyone could believe how well we began last season.
We won some great games, played some great football and it was unbelievable.
But the way football is going it will be an interesting season.
The farce over ITV Digital has hit everyone and football is in the lurch.
It has been one big cock up that has had a knock on effect on the players, the manager, the board and, of course, you the fans.
I know the gaffer has come out and said that all the players are up for sale but I know that no one wants to leave Burnley.
But that may not be in our hands if the club decide they have to sell to balance the books.
We had been hoping that with the addition of two or three new players we would be in a strong position to build on what has been achieved in the last two seasons but that hasn't happened.
I know my name has been linked with a move away but I can assure you I am happy here.
I signed a contract extension last season and it was after ITV Digital went bust.
The speculation does not bother me because I just want to do my best for Burnley Football Club.
I know the gaffer does not want me to go and that is good enough for me.
In the end any decision might be out of both our hands because people realise that every footballer is up for sale - if the price is right!
But for now I am just looking ahead to playing Brighton tomorrow.
We have not pushed things too hard in pre-season and luckily we have a nearly full squad to choose from.
The start of the new season also sees me defending my title as TalkSport's champion tipster.
Each Thursday at 9.45pm I will be predicting scores for the weekend and I just hope I can do as well as last year.
It is always hard at the start of the season and I won't predict a score for Turf tomorrow.
Let's just hope we can get off to a winning start!
