HOLY Cross College student Collette Chambers has jetted off on a two-week adventure to Argentina.
Sixteen-year-old Collette, from Holcombe, bade farewell to a rain-soaked North West to embark on the journey sponsored by Lancashire brewers Daniel Thwaites, run in conjunction with the Experiment for International Living.
Her trip was funded by the Thwaites Travel Scholarship, which has been sponsoring globetrotters for 43 years.
Under the supervision of group leaders Sirin Dasu and Nina Phillips, Collette and the rest of the group will spend time living and working alongside families in the capital Buenos Aires and the province of Santa Fe.
"This is a great opportunity to learn about different cultures and I'm certainly going to make the most of it," said Collette before she set off. "I just hope we don't take the rain with us!"
