EXPECT screams from the teens when chart-topping Pop Idol Darius makes an appearance at the Blackpool Illuminations switch-on night on August 30.
The irrepressible Darius Danesh, whose debut single Colourblind is at Number One this week, won the nation's hearts when he reached the Pop Idol finals.
He'll be sure to charm the spectators alongside other guest performers, including popular boy-band, A1, whose version of A-Ha's cult classic Take On Me was a number one hit.
Top band Toploader will have everyone Dancing in the Moonlight, and will be backed by UK chart-topping trio Sugababes.
BBC Radio 2 will bring live coverage of the switch-on for the sixth consecutive year. A capacity crowd of 15,000 is expected to fill the Radio 2 Arena to the rear of Coral Island on New Bonny Street.
The identity of the celebrity who will be flicking the switch is expected to be announced within a few days.
