BLACKBURN boss Graeme Souness has promised Rovers will be the Premiership's kings of entertainment this season as he prepared his squad for their friendly with Lazio at Ewood.
Dwight Yorke's arrival from Manchester United has coincided with the team finding the net a whopping 15 times in their last three pre-season outings.
And Souness believes fans are in for a further feast of goals once the serious stuff begins in earnest against Sunderland next weekend - although he fears they could be flying in at both ends of the pitch.
"Our fans are in for an exciting season," said Souness.
"Unfortunately, it's going to be at both ends of the ground.
"I think we'll score goals, but the way we ask the team to play, I think we'll end up conceding them as well.
"But as manager I want us to try and play our football whenever it is possible.
"We had some players last year who had no experience of the Premier League.
"This year we now have some players who have shown they can handle playing at that level and, as long as they don't turn up with their big heads on and continue to work as hard as they did last season, then I think we can achieve things."
After four friendly games against a mixture of opposition, tonight's prestigious match against Lazio represents Rovers' toughest test yet.
But Souness believes his Worthington Cup winners are more than equipped for the challenge in what will be his side's last official friendly before the big kick-off.
"Lazio are a top team so it will be difficult for us but we'll go after them and I'd like to think they will go after us, so our supporters are in for an exciting evening."
Yorke, Souness's new £2 million signing, is in line for a home debut alongside Andy Cole up front.
And the former Manchester United duo look set to lead the attack for the foreseeable future because Souness has revealed it could be the end of September before Matt Jansen is ready to return to action following the head injury he sustained in a motorbike accident over the summer.
"Matt had a nasty bang on the head and he's currently being assessed by the week," said Souness.
"He feels as though he could play tomorrow but we have the best medical team in the country and we'll do exactly what they tell us to do in regard to him.
"He feels great in himself. We have a machine at the training ground which is all about co-ordination where we've got pads on the floor and you look at a television screen and Matt now has the 10 best times in the club.
"So he feels he's ready because he's kicking a ball and doing everything but getting involved in the games.
"If you remember Brad got knocked out for a couple of seconds against Birmingham two years ago but the rules state that you've then got to leave him out for the following game.
"So Matt's was a little bit more serious than that which is why we are being extra cautious."
ROVERS Under 19s beat Brondby 3-1 in a friendly at Brockhall yesterday.
