FORMER captain of Prestwich Golf Club Kevin Hughes has had a change of course by becoming a senior manager in Yorkshire Bank's Manchester business team.

Kevin is now managing the organisation's relationships with some key corporate customers from its regional business centre in the city's Spring Gardens.

He said: "My new post was attractive because Yorkshire Bank offered me the opportunity to perform a true relationship manager role."

Kevin has been recruited from NatWest which he joined straight from St Peter's Grammar School, Prestwich.

He was with his former employer for 22 years, spending the last seven as a business manager covering centres including Bolton and Wigan.

His earlier career included spells in the bank's human resources and credit card control functions and stints as branch manager in Rochdale and Bolton.

Kevin, who lives in Whitefield and who is married with a 15-year-old daughter, also spent three years in Athens as assistant to the bank's operations manager in the early 1990s. He now enjoys regular trips back to Greece.

His major recreation is golf at the club where he was captain two years ago and now plays off 17.
