REGARDING your report headlined 'Owner to rescue of tar-stuck dog,' (LET, July 31), I was disgusted that this man was offered a payment to cover the cost of cleaning his home and clothes that were soiled by tar that was left to dry in the hot sun -- as his dog was not the only dog to getthat got covered in it.
My husband came back from taking our dog for a walk on the Arran leisure trail at Shadsworth, Blackburn, covered in tar that caused small stones to stick to his feet.
My carpets are also covered in this tar and also my brand-new white suite.
We are having to clean off the tar, with a great deal of difficulty with turpentine.
Not everybody likes to complain for cash back.
We were more bothered about getting our dog cleaned up and hoping it did not scar him for life.
