REGARDING your article about the closure of Henry Loofe's outfitters stall on Blackburn market (LET, August 5), I remember when he had a shop in Deardengate, Haslingden. His suits were 'with it,' perfect.
When I was about 30, I worked at Henry's works in Back Owen Street, Accrington, where he made rainwear. My job was turning belts and trimming the lining before all parts went to the machinist for 'closing in.'
I loved working there. Thanks to your story from Henry's daughter, Josephine Grunberg, it had me, at the age of 87, as if I was back there turning the belts, pressing the collars, etc.
