Elizabeth Reed, prosecuting, said a man working for a car body repair company in Nancy Street witnessed the incident.

He heard shouting and banging coming from a house and two men emerged from the back.

Shortly after, Grimshaw, came out carrying the chair leg and chased to one of the men who was on a bike.

As she passed a car, parked waiting repairs, Grimshaw struck the side of the vehicle causing a dent and a scratch. She then continued, shouting and screaming.

After the man cycled away Grimshaw returned to Nancy Street and started hitting the door before smashing a window.

Michael Blacklidge, defending, said Grimshaw had been living at the address with her partner of five years.

On the day of the incident some of her money had gone missing and a row had developed.
