THE only ball ever used to score a hat-trick in a World Cup final has been on show at North West soccer grounds including Ewood Park and Turf Moor.
And when the historic piece of memorabilia arrived at Turf Moor it was greeted by former Burnley, Blackburn Rovers and Manchester United star John Connelly who was a member of England's 1966 World Cup winning squad.
John, who won a First Division championship medal for Burnley and played alongside Charlton, Best and Law in his time at United, owns Connelly's Plaice fish and chip shop in Nelson.
The ball is a star exhibit at the National Museum of Football in Preston and curator Mark Bushell said the tour would help promote the national and international significance of the collection.
Details of the museum opening times and special offers on admission are available on 01772 908403.
