BURY District Citizens Advice Bureau has announced a new local rate phone number for people wishing to contact their advice line.
The line provides advice and information 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The new local rate number is 0845 1203757 and replaces the old number, which was a national rate number.
Anne Magrath, telephone advice line manager, said: "We are grateful for the support of Bury Council in making this change. The advice line is staffed all day Monday as well as Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Outside these times or when the lines are very busy callers can hear a whole range of regularly updated advice and information.
"Although we know there is no substitute for speaking to an adviser the information provided can help people start to tackle their own problems and it is available 24/7."
