SEVENTY jobs will be created when the new Marks and Spencer store opens in Prestwich in October.
The company has revealed that work on the Neighbourhood Food Store is going to schedule and it is expected to open on Monday, October 7.
However, they are still keeping under wraps who the occupier of the second retail unit will be and say that it will be a "high profile national non-food retailer".
Marks and Spencer are currently recruiting for the foodstore and enquiries can be made to Prestwich Job Centre. A recruitment evening held last week at the centre attracted 120 people.
A company spokesman said: "There will be jobs for 70 people in total, including both full-time and part-time opportunities. There will be the equivalent of 35 full-time positions available."
