A TODMORDEN pub waved goodbye to two barmaids in one week after both moved on to run their own bars.
Amanda Jarvis, 19, and Lindsay Kyme, 33, both of Dyneley Avenue, worked at the Black Swan before they were offered licensee positions.
Amanda now runs the Royal George, on Rochdale Road, and Lindsay runs the Bramsche nearby.
Amanda said: "I'm still only 19 but I think I've learned most of what is involved and there's nothing like being your own boss."
Lindsay also enjoyed working at the Black Swan but like her former colleague has no regrets about her decision to leave.
She said: "It's absolutely brilliant - I'm enjoying every minute of it."
The manager of the Black Swan, Gary Barlow, said he was sorry to lose Amanda and Lindsay.
"They were both keen and I was only too pleased to be able to help by putting their names forward."
