LANCASHIRE County Council has written to the Parish Council to say that it will pay for a village sign on Brownside Road son condition it incorporates a road safety message such as 'Drive with Care' or 'Take Care Get There'.

WORSTHORNE with Hurstwood Parish Council has been invited to join the Highway Agency Route Management Strategy Study M6 to Burnley to M62 (M65/A56/M66). It is a 10-year management strategy to improve safety, ease congestion, protect the environment and promote the integration of all forms of transport for the M66/A56/M65 corridor. WORSTHORNE Carnival takes place on Saturday, August 24, from noon. Live bands will entertain visitors outside The Bay Horse. A children's bouncy castle and many other attractions will also be there. All the money raised will be used by the Friends of Worsthorne with Hurstwood for local improvements.
