A PUBLIC performance in Darwen's Bold Venture Park was a huge success.
Members of the Blackburn with Darwen Council Forum will be told that a production of The Reluctant Dragon by the Illyria Theatre Company was a sell-out success when they meet tomorrow night.
The play, organised by Darwen Library Theatre, was adapted from the popular book by Kenneth Grahame and featured colourful costumes, music and fun.
It took place on July 11 and was enjoyed by all who attended, the meeting will be told by Coun Kate Hollern.
Members will also hear that the Darwen-based artist Marjan Wouda has been appointed as environmental artist in residence to work on projects in Sunnyhurst Woods, Darwen, and on the Arran Trail in Shadsworth.
She will work alongside fellow artist Janet Burns every Sunday from the middle of this month until the end of October.
Coun Hollern, executive member for leisure, culture and sport at Blackburn with Darwen Council, will refer to the projects in her quarterly presentation to the council forum.
